Reports of high profile information data leaks via Multi-Functional Devices (MFD) have been hitting the headlines recently.
The majority of users do not realise that documents which are scanned, copied or printed can be held permanently on the internal storage of these devices (Data Hard Drive). In addition, logs are also retained of the actions performed on these files including fax numbers and email addresses held on the devices address book.
This is all useful information for the rightful operators of the MFD, but is also a major source of information for data theft.
At U2 Events, we ensure this information is securely erased from the devices with the built in software tools provided on our latest range of Multi-Functional Devices and supported directly by our supplier Canon UK Ltd. This can easily be operated by the user on-site and is capable of hard disk data erasure each time the machine is switched on/off.
Alternatively, on products which do not have this inbuilt facility we will physically remove the hard disk drive and using suitable tools permanently erase all data from it and re-format ready to be used again.
Controlling access is also vitally important, ensuring only trusted people have access to the files, address book and logs.
Modern Multi Function Devices come with a host of security features to limit and control access to their facilities, from simple PIN codes to full Microsoft Domain Authentication.
For example Canon’s Uni-flow system, scales from a single copier to a large Domain environment. Starting with PIN authentication and password protected printing on a single device, security can be enhanced with the addition of physical ID cards. With the addition of a Uni-Flow server, multi-device “follow me” printing and scanning can be enabled with tracking and auditing.

How does a rental contract work ?
Simple. Tell us what you require, where and when and we will arrange a totally bespoke solution which is tailored to your specific requirements. Following your agreement we will arrange delivery and installation complete with manufacture trained engineer support and supplies such as toner and staples – we stock high grade photocopier/printer paper which can be purchased separately

We offer daily, weekly and monthly rental contracts, specific to your requirements.
What is included in the rental contract ?
Photocopier rentals include delivery, installation & collection; all engineer service including replacement parts where required Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.00; toners and staples. We can also offer evening and weekend support as an additional service.
Are the areas where you provide rental contracts restricted?
No, we can supply rental equipment nationwide, within mainland United Kingdom.
Can you provide equipment out of normal working hours such as evenings or weekends?
Absolutely, we can provide delivery and collection to whatever date/time specification you require, 7 days a week.

Yes, our models are fully multi-functional with print and scan features, and some include a USB memory port function enabling memory stick connectivity (PDF format).
Do you only rent photocopiers?
No. We rent other office equipment such as laser fax machines, laser printers, computers and monitors, high security paper shredders, water coolers and mobility aids.
